Brett Hanulak is Chief Technology Officer for DiligentIQ. He has more than two decades of experience in software engineering and systems design which he applies to the architecture and ongoing development of the DiligentIQ platform.
Before DiligentIQ, he was a partner and the head of execution systems at the hedge fund Kula Investments, where he led the development of a new trading system and managed all aspects of the firm's live, automated trading.
Prior to joining Kula Investments, Brett spent 12 years at Two Sigma Investments, developing systems trading billions of dollars worth of assets daily. During his tenure, he researched and implemented new automated trading strategies, managed technical operations for high frequency trading, and created tools for live risk management and the monitoring and visualization of trading activity.
He had also been CTO of the venture-backed startup Work Today, where he developed the firm's flagship product - an automated job application tool - and was instrumental in its successful acquisition in early 2021.
Brett began his career at the investment bank Robertson Stephens, working on a trading system that was spun off into its own company and later acquired by the New York Stock Exchange.
Brett graduated with honors from Rutgers University with degrees in Computer Science (BS with departmental honors) and Mathematics (BA).
Outside of work, Brett enjoys spending time with his family, baseball, skiing, and playing the piano.
