Ed was a partner and Chief Information Officer from 2007-2018 at KKR and had responsibility for global technology, data strategy and Operations supporting all firm-wide activities. While at KKR, he was a member of the Operations/Risk management committee and served on the Boards of Ipreo and Artivest. From 2006-2008, Ed served as Managing Director in the Financial Services Advisory group at PwC, where he focused on best-in-class technology strategies to support capital markets and trading activities for clients. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Managing Partner at OMT Partners, a consulting firm servicing the brokerage industry. From 2001- 2003, Ed was a co-founder and CEO of Renaissance Trading Technologies, a technology firm that developed trading software for Nasdaq market makers. Before founding RTT, he served as the Chief Information Officer, Head of Electronic Trading and Director of Operations of Robertson Stephens & Co. Prior to joining Robertson Stephens, Ed was responsible for equity trading technology at JP Morgan, where he helped launch FIX connectivity with institutional clients and designed the first touchpad-based trading platform. He began his career at JP Morgan in 1991. Ed was an early Member of the NASDAQ Advisory Board. He received a B.A. from Rutgers College. Outside of work, he skis, builds Lionel train sets, is an amateur photographer and hikes in National Parks with his 3-year-old Belgian Malinois, Sadie.
Joan is a certified public accountant who began her career in the tax practice office of Deloitte & Touche. She recently retired as a Managing Director at KKR where she had spent 25 years leading the Private Markets Finance team. Joan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. John's University and a Master of Science degree in taxation from Pace University. She spends a lot of her free time serving on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations including the Association to Benefit Children, Camp Fatimat of New Jersey and the Peter J. Tobin College of Business of St. John’s University.
Brett has over two decades of experience in software engineering and systems design, primarily in the investment industry. He began his career at the investment bank Robertson Stephens, working on a trading system that was spun off into its own company and later acquired by the New York Stock Exchange. In 2005 he joined Two Sigma Investments, developing systems trading billions of dollars worth of assets daily. During his 12 years at Two Sigma, he researched and implemented new automated trading strategies, managed technical operations for high frequency trading, and created tools for live risk management and the monitoring and visualization of trading activity. In 2017, Brett joined the venture-backed startup Work Today as CTO, where he developed the firm's flagship product (an automated job application tool) and was instrumental in its successful acquisition in early 2021. Immediately before DiligentIQ, he was a partner and the head of execution systems at the hedge fund Kula Investments, where he led the development of a new trading system and managed all aspects of the firm's live, automated trading. Brett graduated with honors from Rutgers University with degrees in Computer Science (BS with departmental honors) and Mathematics (BA). Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, baseball, skiing, and playing the piano.
Brad brings over 20 years of seasoned experience in the technology sector, with a focus on financial and tech services industries. He was most recently the Director of Technology at Shorenstein Realty in California (2016-2019), Brad successfully oversaw the company's technology infrastructure and application development teams focused on the full lifecycle of Real Estate investing. Brad was the Head of Infrastructure at KKR (2004-2015) during a period of significant growth, where he led a global infrastructure and IT support team responsible for networks, AWS cloud migration, information security, and tech support, managing a staff of 25. During this time, the company expanded significantly, and Brad played a key role in this growth, managing the integration of 2 significant acquisitions to the firm, multiple office expansions, the introduction of virtual desktops worldwide and ensuring compliance with SOX technology requirements for the firm's public offering in 2009. Earlier in his career, Brad worked at Piper Jaffray (2000-2004), providing high-level technical support and managing office relocations. His career began at Dell, where he was responsible for server deployment in production and manufacturing environments and played a key role in a large-scale Windows roll-out for 6000 users. Brad is known for his ability to manage large projects, on tight timeline and aligning technology initiatives with business goals. In his spare time you can find him on the beaches of Northern California surfing in the cold Pacific Ocean.
Mat spent 20 years (2000-2020) at KKR, where he oversaw EMEA IT operations initially and later transitioned to managing global IT infrastructure and security. Before joining KKR, Mat held various technology roles at Revlon and Frito-Lay. Mat holds a BSc in Business Information Systems from UWIC. Outside of work, Mat finds himself largely vexed by the nuances of golf.
Ruban Selvakumar is a client-focused leader with over two decades of experience in the alternative investments and financial technology sectors. As Managing Director, Head of Strategic Projects & Change Management at Ares Management from 2021 to 2023, Ruban spearheaded initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and technology integration across the firm. At KKR, he served as Director for nearly 8 years, where he led strategic technology implementations and managed the US/APAC Credit & Public Markets Operations team, overseeing $130B in assets and liabilities. Ruban co-founded G2 FinTech, a software company, where he was COO & CFO until its successful acquisition by KPMG. He was also COO & CFO of G2 Systems, an alternative investments operations and technology consulting company, which he sold to GFT. His career foundation was built on roles in financial strategies at Countrywide Financial, quantitative research and trading at Carlson Capital, and software engineering in the technology sector. Ruban holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a BS in Computer Science from Cornell University.
Jacek has accumulated over 25 years of experience in technology development across various industries and companies of differing sizes. Most recently, from 2019 to 2023, he served as a consultant for an energy-focused hedge fund. Prior to this, he worked at KKR from 2006 to 2013, where he was responsible for the LP reporting website and several internal systems. His earlier career, spanning from 1997 through 2006, involved roles in software engineering and business analysis at several companies, including Harvard University, Private Healthcare Systems, Data Kinesis, Adaptec, Cannondale Associates, and Energizer. Jacek holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts and an M.S. in Information Systems from Bentley University. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, SCUBA diving, and solving challenging puzzles. His adventures have taken him to 48 states and nearly as many countries.
Michael was with PwC from 2003-2023 and concluded his tenure as a partner within the Financial Services consulting practice. He held several roles and responsibilities over the years, including establishing and building the Risk and Regulatory Technology practice. Over his career Michael has led initiatives and projects within approximately 200 financial institutions across the globe - Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Investment Banks and Commercial Banks. These efforts included remediating and improving operational quality, controls, policies, procedures and IT. Many of these efforts addressed regulatory matters. Michael advised on operational and IT impacts during multiple financial crises (S&L to Global Financial Crisis to Covid). He led the operational aspects for Initial Public Offerings at numerous Alternative Investment Management firms. Michael participated in the development of PwC’s Acceleration Center delivery model and led projects which spanned across centers based in India, Poland, The Philippines, Northern Ireland and South Carolina. He started his career as a banker before moving into consulting with PwC and other firms. Michael served as a guest lecturer on financial services at Duke University. He holds a B.S and M.B.A from Bentley University. Michael's hobbies include painting and music.
Nick was General Counsel from 2010-2021 at the Almatis Group, a global leader in the development and production of premium specialty alumina materials with manufacturing operations across the globe and had responsibility for all legal matters across the multinational organization. From 1997-2010, Nick was an Associate and then a Partner (2005-2010) in the Corporate/Commercial Group of Reed Smith LLP’s London office with a broad corporate and commercial practice base covering diverse business and industry sectors, representing both domestic and large multinational companies, as well as acting as external GC for several US corporations with no in-house legal function in the EU. From 1993-1996, Nick was the Company Solicitor of United Communications Limited in London, an outdoor advertising media group. He began his career in 1991 as a trainee solicitor at Macfarlanes, a medium-sized London City law firm.
Shaun completed his degree in Materials Science at Trinity College Dublin and spent a year in academic research before shifting to software development, obtaining a postgraduate qualification from Dublin City University (DCU). He started his software career in 2015 and, in 2018, joined KKR's Dublin credit office, developing and supporting applications for credit analysts. Outside of work, Shaun enjoys tinkering with personal coding projects and computer and board games.
Drew is a student at Northeastern University pursuing his Bachelor’s of Science in Cybersecurity and Criminal Justice. He gained exposure to software in a professional setting at his three co-ops during his time at the university. In 2023, he spent six months working as a platform engineer for HarbourVest Partners. He planned and began implementation of a future-facing DevOps strategy for the infrastructure department that would overhaul the end-to-end DevOps processes for a more efficient development cycle. Outside of work, he enjoys ultimate frisbee, running, swimming, skiing, and circus arts.
Maya brings a wealth of experience in research and administrative management to DiligentIQ. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Maya’s expertise encompasses both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, complemented by a strong passion for writing. Her professional background includes roles in social media management, process documentation, HR, and project management within the tech and non-profit sectors. Joy, a recent Northeastern graduate with a Bachelor's in Cybersecurity, brings a blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving to her role. During her time at university, she both built a strong foundation across various cybersecurity topics and also honed her skills in automation and software development as a student contractor, where she built a course-designing automation tool for Northeastern's Academic Technologies Department. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring her interests in malware and network security research, particularly where they intersect with AI, with personal projects and research. When offline, she can be found bouldering, practicing yoga, or losing herself in the fantastical worlds of books and movies.
Michael Scoleri graduated from Hamilton College in May 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Computer Science. He has gained professional experience through internships at two different tech startups, where he worked as a Software Engineer Intern and a Quantitative Developer Intern. During the latter, he developed a machine learning-integrated trading strategy with IBKR. Michael is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Financial Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, with an expected graduation date of December 2025. Outside of work, Michael enjoys golfing, spending time with family and friends, and exploring science fiction.
Lila Karl graduated from Wake Forest University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a minor in Economics. Lila is working as an AI Research intern until she starts her full-time job. Last summer, she worked as a Technology Consulting intern at EY and will return in February. In college, Lila was a Teacher Assistant for an introductory engineering class and the President of the Society of Women Engineers. In her free time, Lila enjoys cooking, walking her dog, and reading.
David is a seasoned corporate communications executive with over 20 years of experience in driving brand awareness, enhancing executive visibility, and safeguarding corporate reputation. He excels in crafting strategic narratives, identifying compelling stories that attract media attention, and developing effective messaging to position products and services.
His extensive experience encompasses external communications and media relations, internal communications, and cultural initiatives. He has advised C-suite executives on strategic narratives, provided brand and marketing support, managed social media strategies, and led communications during critical issues and crises.
Throughout his career, David has held senior-level positions at prominent New York City-based PR agencies, including Ketchum and MSL Group. He also led US Media Relations for the London-based World Gold Council and most recently served as Head of US Corporate Communications for the France-based Groupe Bonduelle. Prior to his career in public relations, David held a Series 7/63 license and worked as a financial services representative, where he gained valuable insights into markets, financial products, and investor behavior. He holds a dual degree in psychology and political science from Boston University.
Outside of work, David is passionate about baking bread, cultivating vegetables in his home garden, and enjoys weightlifting, running, and swimming.
Kenny DeGiglio is Client Experience Director for DiligentIQ, where he is responsible for helping Private Equity, Credit, and Real Estate investment firms harness Generative AI to enhance the diligence process.
Before DiligentIQ, Kenny co-founded Crypto Academy, a portfolio company of Professional Capital Management, where he developed and delivered specialized blockchain and digital asset training programs for global finance and technology firms.
Earlier in his career, as Managing Partner at LionTutors, Kenny built and led teams that developed comprehensive exam preparation programs at major universities, honing his ability to translate complex concepts into practical solutions. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Penn State University.
