Nick Elliot is General Counsel at DiligentIQ and responsible for all legal matters.

Nick is a motivated, business aligned and experienced corporate/commercial lawyer with extensive international experience gained both in-house and in private practice, deploying legal skills to support business-led initiatives and setting priorities that are aligned to those of the business.

Before joining DiligentIQ, Nick was General Counsel from 2010-2021 at the Almatis Group, a global leader in the development and production of premium specialty alumina materials. From 1997-2010 Nick was an Associate and then a Partner (2005-2010) in the Corporate/Commercial Group of Reed Smith LLP’s London office with a broad corporate and commercial practice base. He covered diverse business and industry sectors. 

Earlier in his career, Nick was the Company Solicitor of United Communications Limited in London, an outdoor advertising media group. He began his career in 1991 as a trainee solicitor at Macfarlanes, a medium-sized London City law firm.

Nick has a Bachelor of Art degree in History from London University and completed his postgraduate legal studies at Northumbria University.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys cooking, running, skiing and keeping up with his two year old Golden Retriever, Parker.
